Crossroads Care Network

What Is The Crossroads Care Network?

Crossroads Care Network is a one-to-one lay caring ministry made up of Crossroads members that care about you.

The Care Network equips and empowers lay caregivers to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.

How Does The Care Network Work?

The best way to understand how the Care Network works is to learn about two groups of people involved in this ministry: the Care Givers, and Care Receivers.

The Care Network Team...

Is made up of members from the Crossroads congregation who are trained to listen, care, encourage, and provide emotional, and spiritual support to people going through a difficult time.
  • Builds awareness of the Care Network within the congregation and community
  • Recruits and trains Care Givers
  • Meets with potential Care Receivers to assess their needs
  • Matches Care Receivers with a Care Giver
  • Helps provide the Care Givers with continued education

Care Receivers...

Are people—congregation members and others in the community—who receive care from a Care Giver. These are people struggling through a difficult time in life—experiencing grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or some other life crisis.

Some important guidelines for this caring relationship protect both the Care Receiver and the Care Giver:
  • The relationship between a Care Receiver and a Care Giver is confidential.
  • Men are matched with men; women with women.
  • Care Givers are not licensed counselors or socials workers.
  • When a Care Receiver’s needs exceed what a Care Giver can provide, the Care Network team makes a referral to an appropriate mental health professional or other community resource.
